Welcome to Kingdom of Fife Falconry Activities
Kingdom of Falconry is one of Fifes first Centre of
its kind to offer hands-on lessons with trained birds of prey. Guests at the
Centre are invited to try one of the world's oldest sports in the picturesque
setting of the Fife Countryside and enhance their appreciation of these
magnificent birds. During a session, guests will learn to handle and fly Harris
hawks. Introductory lessons and "hawk walks" as well as "Lantra Awards"
are offered to give guests the opportunity to appreciate these amazing Birds of
Prey
Introductory Lesson
This introduction provides hands-on learning, equipping the student to both
handle and fly a Harris hawk.
Hawk Walk
During this session, guests free fly Harris hawks along our scenic trails.
Guests are required to have taken a lesson prior to participating in a Hawk
Walk. The hawks follow from tree to tree returning to the gloved fist for
rewards of meat.

In this hands-on introduction to the art of falconry, you are taught to handle a

Lantra
The award is granted to those candidates who are able to demonstrate an
understanding of the relevant background knowledge, and those practical skills
necessary to keep a Bird of Prey in a healthy and happy condition.
